Dr. Campbell  (Dan) has over 15 years of experience in Instructional Systems
Design, Training Delivery, and Project Management for commercial, government,
military, non-profit, and higher education organizations. In his current position
with Vangent Inc., he conducts competency modeling, needs analysis; and plans
and manages the design, development, and deployment of web-based training
(WBT), instructor-led training (ILT), and blended learning solutions.
About Dr. Campbell
Dan's instructional design work has been honored by Brandon-Hall Research with the Excellence in Learning Gold
award for Best Blended Solution, and the 2007 Bersin Learning Leaders award for Operational Excellence.  

Prior to his Instructional design career, Dan served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, the last ten of which he served as an
Acoustic Intelligence (ACINT) Specialist  (NEC-0416) with the Office of Naval Intelligence. During his career he earned the
designation of Master Training Specialist (MTS) by the Chief of Naval Technical Training. Dan retired from the Navy in 1996
as a Senior Chief Submarine Sonar Technician (STSCS/SS).

Dan earned a BS in Technical Management from Wayland Baptist University, an MA Ed in E-Education from University of
Phoenix, and an Ed.D in Educational Leadership from University of Phoenix. His dissertation research established the first
research-based competency model for the specific role of e-learning Instructional Systems Designer.

Dan lives in Mystic Connecticut with his wife of 26 years Angie. They have two children, Gwen and Tim, both in graduate
school. They also have
four cats: Orange Cat (OJ), Bubbles, Fritz, and Oliver.
